Let's get on the grid

This week we are learning about the nine key areas of our lives within which we can apply change and focus. These nine elements of life are set out according to Chinese Feng Shui and are known as the Bagua.

"Get on the Grid" this week by finding out where your focus currently lies and where you would like it to be.

The Bagua works primarily in conjunction with the layout of our homes and we will get to this at a later stage. For now we begin by [...]
applying the diagram to your life.

Book of Glory Activity:

Monday is simple, print out the Bagua below for your Book of Glory. Plot your current location on the diagram and see where you are. You could be shared amongst certain areas or lie completely in one area alone. There is no rule as to how thinly spread or overly focused you may be.

And that is it for today. All change and movement towards balance begins with understanding where your current position is.

Feng Shui creates harmony in one's life and that is what we set out to do this week.

Get on the Grid! Details for each area are below.

                                                             FENG SHUI BAGUA

  • Career AreaYour life path, career and creativity or whatever you spend most of your time doing.

  • Helpful People The 'helpful people' or 'angels' area includes networks you have in your life for support.
    This area also covers travel.

  • Creativity And Children This area relates to hobbies, projects and creativity. It also is an area of focus for those of you who have children or are currently focusing on having children.

  • Love And Marriage This area of the feng shui bagua concerns marriage, friendships, and the way we relate to people in general.

  • Fame Inspiration, self-expression and what you are known for, are represented in this area. If you feel you are not recognised for what you do or how well you do it , this is an area for focus in your life. This includes self-recognition.

  • Wealth This area concerns wealth, prosperity, good fortune, blessings and abundance of all kinds, not just money.

  • Health And Family The family area concerns parents, ancestors, heritage and any influences from the past.

  • Knowledge And Self-Cultivation This area of your living space represents introspection, meditation, inner guidance and studying.

  • Chi The centre point represents Chi and after last week we all now know what that is. (Click here to recap)

  1. Do you plot by things that you want - or where you are right now?

  2. Start with where you are right now. We will move through the grid during the week and set goals as to what you want in each area. I'm sitting in the NE corner across relationships and in the SE corner on networks. I know I want to focus more on career so will gradually make changes to make the move there. Plot where you are at now so you can see the changes over time.
